Episode 40. Idea (2)

Rest time, which received solutions from Kang Dae-oh and Do Sang-ho, decided to have a short three-day closing period.

This was to find the optimal latte art by applying the solutions they had provided.

Latte art can take a lot of time or a little time, depending on the type.

It shouldn’t take too long. Otherwise, the coffee would get cold. More importantly, a cafe business needs good turnover, and if this turnover decreases, sales will also decrease, making the latte art strategy worse than not doing it at all.

However, pursuing only simple latte art is also not good. Latte art like hearts or simple flower shapes can be sufficiently showcased in other cafes.

If this happens, Rest time’s unique characteristic loses its meaning.

They needed to captivate people with more elaborate latte art.

Creation time and splendor. They decided to focus on finding the intersection of these two, maximizing efficiency.

Fortunately, this process didn’t take as long as expected.

“How about this?”

President Shim Gyuhan showed the designs he had come up with to the two people who had proposed the solutions, to get their confirmation.

One was a cat, another a dog. The last one was a rabbit. He expressed these three types of animals immersing themselves as if taking a half-bath in the coffee cup, using milk foam.

CEO Do Sang-ho nodded with a satisfied expression.

“It’s good, isn’t it? If we alternate these patterns and show them to customers, I think they’ll like them. Dae-oh, what do you think?”

Kang Dae-oh also nodded, indicating he shared Do Sang-ho’s opinion.

“I think this is excellent. The time is also just right.”

“Good. Then we can go with this for tomorrow’s filming.”

The two men deliberately made time to visit Rest time today, even though it wasn’t the filming day, to help Shim Gyuhan.

This was to check in advance, as a pre-inspection, how much Shim Gyuhan had prepared before tomorrow’s filming.

At first, their worries were immense.

However, once they came and checked, the two realized that they had worried for nothing.

Although their visit today ended up being in vain, in this case, it could be seen as a pleasant waste of effort.

“The preparations are done. Now, tomorrow, it will depend on how well Yera and Yeyoung do.”

CEO Do Sang-ho turned his head and looked at Kang Dae-oh.

“Yera and Yeyoung. They’ll do well tomorrow, right?”

Kang Dae-oh nodded vigorously.

“Yes. Because they are my daughters. There’s no need to doubt.”

A father’s trust in his daughters is absolute.

Anytime, anywhere.

The next day, Rest time, which had been temporarily closed, was bustling with many people.

Most of them were Yoradae staff.

Before starting the filming, PD Kwak went for a final check.

“The cameras are here… and installed on the right side of the entrance here. When you move around, please be careful not to stand here continuously, as you might block the camera.”

“Yes, PD-nim!”

The cast members answered energetically, engraving PD Kwak’s words in their minds.

If they filmed diligently but their bodies blocked the camera, preventing the footage from being captured, it could lead to a broadcast accident.

President Shim Gyuhan, who was not used to such filming, listened to PD Kwak’s words and said with a wry smile.

“I guess I’ll just have to stay put here.”

President Shim Gyuhan declared that he wouldn’t take a single step outside the store.

Kang Dae-oh, who heard that, chuckled.

“What will you do when you need to go to the restroom?”

“That’s… a problem.”

Rest time’s restroom is located outside the store, not inside.

Therefore, saying he wouldn’t go outside the store was practically impossible.

Kang Dae-oh reassured him in a tone that told him not to worry.

“Yera and Yeyoung will tell you if they think you’re blocking the camera, so you don’t have to stress out too much.”

Kang Yera gave a thumbs-up, telling them to trust only them.

Kang Dae-oh’s two daughters decided to wear identical uniforms for today’s filming.

This was because of an idea proposed by Kang Yera.

How to attract customers’ attention? Kang Yera’s idea was very simple.

It was for her and Kang Yeyoung to work as one-day part-timers.

Not just one, but two well-known celebrities working part-time here, passersby would inevitably take an interest at least once.

This was precisely what Kang Yera was aiming for.

Kang Yeyoung recalled Kang Yera’s idea again, hinting that her unnie was amazing.

“You’re probably the only unnie who can come up with such ideas on the spot.”

“That’s a compliment, right?”

“Yes, it is.”

Was it because of the tone? Kang Yera couldn’t understand why she didn’t feel happy after receiving a compliment.

Finally, the official store operating hours arrived.

PD Kwak and the staff had already moved out of the way before filming began, so their images wouldn’t appear on camera.

Kang Dae-oh and Do Sang-ho were also the same.

The two men took seats in a spot secured by the production team nearby and decided to broadcast whether Kang Yera’s part-time strategy was working on people, through multiple cameras.

As soon as the cameras started rolling, the two began to gaze at the small monitors with eager eyes.

Kang Yera, who was inside the store, was seen gesturing to Kang Yeyoung.

At that sight, Do Sang-ho tilted his head.

“Why is Yera doing that?”

Kang Dae-oh seemed to know what Kang Yera wanted to say.

“It probably means they want to go outside.”

As soon as Kang Dae-oh finished his remark.

“Let’s go, Yeyoung-ah. If we just sit inside the store, people won’t come to us on their own. We need to go out in front of the store and actively solicit customers for people to come, don’t you think?”

Kang Yeyoung seemed to realize that her unnie’s idea made sense, as she nodded and showed an accepting posture instead of raising an objection.

Do Sang-ho looked at Kang Dae-oh once more.

“As expected of a father, you know them well.”

An awkward smile appeared on Kang Dae-oh’s face.

Kang Yera’s strategy worked perfectly.

People walking aimlessly turned their steps naturally towards the store when they saw the Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung sisters standing near the store entrance in uniform.

Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung, seeing people flocking, displayed professional smiles and said:

“Welcome!”

“This is Rest time!”

With the two beautiful sisters, dressed in outfits reminiscent of maid uniforms, greeting them with such bright smiles, people couldn’t help but enter the store.

Due to the charm exuded by the Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung sisters, a long waiting line soon formed in front of Rest time.

A “Wow…” sound naturally escaped Do Sang-ho’s lips.

All of this happened in less than 10 minutes after the recording began. He couldn’t help but be surprised.

“Yera and Yeyoung seem to be really popular.”

He knew it, but he hadn’t expected it to be this much.

Kang Dae-oh chuckled softly upon hearing Do Sang-ho’s words.

“These days, among teenagers and people in their twenties, if you don’t know Yera and Yeyoung, you’d be called a spy.”

This wasn’t just true for Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung.

Kang Yebin, who wasn’t there, was the same.

Kang Dae-oh’s daughters, who were very popular among the younger generation.

Do Sang-ho’s gaze, looking at Kang Dae-oh, had already turned to envy.

“You’re lucky, CEO Kang. Having not just one, but three such beautiful and popular daughters.”

In response, Kang Dae-oh smiled brightly and said:

“Happiness is threefold.”

No, perhaps even more than that.

Thanks to the active participation of the Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung sisters, they were able to attract people to the cafe in a short time, even without any special promotion or marketing strategy.

As the rumor spread beyond word-of-mouth to the internet, more and more people flocked as time went on.

When Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung alone could no longer handle the situation.

Eventually, Kang Dae-oh and Do Sang-ho also joined as reinforcements to help.

Kang Yera gave a bright smile to the people leaving the store.

“Thank you! Please visit again later!”

The faces of the customers who visited the store all looked bright.

Besides the taste of the drinks, they were quite pleased with the latte art presented by President Shim Gyuhan.

Moreover, although it was only for today, the part-timers were also pretty.

Rest time had many factors that made customers smile.

Thus, until late, the Yoradae cast and President Shim Gyuhan busily greeted customers.

And finally.

They achieved the feat of running out of all ingredients before sunset.

“This is… the first time this has happened since I opened the store here.”

President Shim Gyuhan seemed unable to believe this fact, speaking with a bewildered expression.

Kang Dae-oh patted him on the shoulder.

“You’ll have a harder time from now on, so it would be good to hire part-timers in advance.”

“What? Wasn’t today the day with the most customers? I don’t think customers will flock like this after today.”

That’s because, from tomorrow, the entire Yoradae production team, including Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung, would not be there.

The filming was already finished.

They would now go to resolve the situation of the next story applicant.

However, Kang Dae-oh spoke as if the real game was just beginning now.

“Once it airs, there will be twice… no, from my experience, more than three times as many people will flock here than today.”

“R-really?”

“Yes. So, hire staff in advance.”

It wasn’t a joke. It was sincere advice given with consideration for President Shim Gyuhan, who would face difficulties in the future.

Kang Dae-oh felt as if President Shim Gyuhan’s happy screams, which would soon be heard, were already echoing in his ears.

Thus, the Yoradae production team, having resolved the difficulties of the season’s first story applicant, finished their day’s schedule and began preparations for withdrawal.

During this, PD Kwak called Kang Yera and Kang Yeyoung.

Kang Dae-oh asked his two daughters, who returned to him after their conversation, what they had talked about.

Then Kang Yeyoung pointed at Kang Yera and said:

“PD-nim said casting unnie for Yoradae was a stroke of genius and he really loved it.”

Kang Dae-oh already had the same thought as PD Kwak.

“Because ever since Yera came, the atmosphere has become incredibly bright.”

Kang Yera chuckled, puffing out her chest.

“It’s me, after all.”

Kang Yeyoung made a bewildered expression.

“If you just didn’t brag so much, you’d be a really good unnie.”

At his youngest daughter’s excessively honest words, Kang Dae-oh instinctively let out a laugh.
