Episode 25. Things I Like to Do (3)
Min Seung-yeon received a smooth acceptance notification for the fitting model job posting.
As soon as her husband returned home, she showed him the acceptance text with a dazed expression and said,
“Suddenly this morning… around 10 AM, I think? I got a call from an unknown number, and at first, I thought it was spam, you know? But when I answered, it wasn’t. You wouldn’t believe how surprised I was.”
“That just means they thought highly of you.”
At first, Min Seung-yeon would only show a timid reaction whenever the topic of modeling came up, but now, she was the one bringing it up first.
This acceptance notification meant she had regained her confidence.
“I was told to set a date for a meeting sometime this week… Oh, right. Then what about what the kids mentioned?”
“That?”
“You know, the photoshoot offer that came in for Yera and Yebin. The one where they asked if I could shoot with them.”
“Don’t worry too much, we can just coordinate our schedules.”
It wasn’t a long-term project that required several months of filming like a movie or drama.
Photoshoots usually ended in one or two days, so coordinating schedules would be easy.
Min Seung-yeon was still dedicated to housework, so she could make time whenever she put her mind to it.
Kang Dae-oh gathered his daughters, who were in their respective rooms, to the living room.
This was because there was something to discuss regarding the photoshoot.
“Mom said she’ll do the photoshoot with you guys.”
“Really?!”
“Wow…!”
The daughters’ eyes sparkled.
When the photoshoot idea first came up, they weren’t entirely optimistic.
Min Seung-yeon’s passive attitude was the biggest reason.
However, once their mother gained confidence, she became fearless of anything in the world.
Watching her mother make the big decision to participate in the photoshoot, Kang Yeyoung expressed her regret.
“If I had known this, I would’ve joined unnies’ agency.”
Yirool Entertainment accepts singers and actors as affiliated artists, but there were no plans yet to expand their scope to include influencers.
For this reason, Kang Yeyoung chose Green Rose, an MCN company, instead of Yirool.
Of course, it would be good to work under the same roof as her unnies.
However, pursuing her own dream was a higher priority.
Kang Yera chuckled and patted Kang Yeyoung’s shoulder.
“There’ll be another chance later. Just take comfort in looking at Dad. Dad can’t shoot with us either.”
“Oh.”
Listening to her, Kang Dae-oh belatedly realized he was in the same situation as Kang Yeyoung.
At her unnie’s words that she wasn’t the only one excluded, Kang Yeyoung glanced at her dad and pondered deeply.
“Should I be happy about this, or not…?”
Coincidentally, Kang Dae-oh also shared the same thought as his youngest daughter.
On the day of Min Seung-yeon and her two daughters’ photoshoot.
Lee Seo-jun, who had returned to the main branch from the second branch to take on the role of general manager after Amare acquired Etoile, sought out Kang Dae-oh.
“Boss. No, Representative-nim.”
The habit from his days as a part-timer kept popping out.
Kang Dae-oh chuckled, watching him quickly correct himself.
“You can just call me comfortably.”
“No, I can’t. Everyone else calls you ‘Representative-nim,’ so I can’t call you anything different.”
“Well, then… I guess it can’t be helped. But why?”
“Sein called earlier. She said the second branch is almost out of coffee beans and asked me to check if we could get more.”
As Lee Seo-jun moved to the main branch, Choi Sein, conversely, moved to the second branch to lead it.
Kang Dae-oh had decided it was right to entrust important stores to those who had worked with him the longest.
Executive Director Yoo In-seok also agreed with this.
This was because practical work should be handled by those who know it best.
“For that, contact the upper management. There should still be some inventory.”
“Yes, understood.”
“I have some business. I’ll leave first.”
“Are you working outside?”
“No.”
Kang Dae-oh looked at his smartphone screen and reconfirmed today’s schedule etched in his calendar app.
[Wife and daughters’ photoshoot. 11 AM]
After additionally checking the studio location, Kang Dae-oh replied to Lee Seo-jun, who was curious about his schedule:
“I’m going to a family event.”
For Kang Dae-oh, it could be considered a very important event.
Kang Yera and Kang Yebin, who needed to prepare for the shoot, were already at the studio with Min Seung-yeon.
Kang Dae-oh was scheduled to pick up Kang Yeyoung and then depart as a later group.
As soon as she got into the car, Kang Yeyoung pulled something out of her bag.
Kang Dae-oh, who secretly peeked at what his daughter had brought, let out a small laugh and asked,
“Are you going to film for YouTube?”
“Yes. Every event like today is a source to upload as a video. It’d be a shame to miss it, you know.”
“Don’t you need permission to film?”
“I already got all of it. They said it’s fine as long as I upload it only after the official photoshoot pictures and video are released.”
“Right. It would be a problem if your edited video went up before the official one.”
That in itself would be a big spoiler.
While Kang Yeyoung was setting up her camera with her small, nimble hands.
The car they were in quickly arrived at the studio.
The two unnies, who were waiting for their dad and youngest dongsaeng, greeted them warmly.
Afterward, Kang Dae-oh spoke with the camera director and other staff members.
It was then.
“You’re here?”
The moment Min Seung-yeon, having finished her makeup and hair styling, appeared in the studio.
Kang Dae-oh froze on the spot.
At her husband’s reaction, Min Seung-yeon tilted her head.
“Why? Is my makeup wrong?”
“No. You’re just so pretty. I almost fell for you all over again.”
Min Seung-yeon’s face flushed redder than when she’d had blush applied.
“Everyone’s watching. What are you saying, really.”
Unlike the embarrassed Min Seung-yeon, the daughters and staff, who were secretly listening to their sweet conversation, looked at the couple with fond eyes.
The camera director chuckled and began tidying up the set.
“Thanks to you two, the set is already heating up even before we start shooting. Shall we start shooting before it gets even hotter?”
That seemed to be better for Min Seung-yeon.
Min Seung-yeon and her two daughters stood in front of the camera for the photoshoot.
Kang Dae-oh decided to film them separately, in place of Kang Yeyoung.
The camera director raised his voice towards the three.
“Alright! Please look to your right, following me! Yes, that angle is great! Mother, you take pictures incredibly well! It looks like you won’t need any touch-ups!”
“Th-thank you.”
Was it because it had been a long time since she modeled?
Min Seung-yeon found the camera director’s praise quite unfamiliar.
On the other hand, Kang Yera and Kang Yebin seemed to have done photoshoots multiple times in a past life, as they naturally struck free poses.
Sometimes, when their mother seemed confused about what pose to strike, the two daughters would eagerly tell her the appropriate pose for the situation.
Thanks to Kang Yera and Kang Yebin’s support, Min Seung-yeon was able to finish the photoshoot much more comfortably than she had worried.
The camera director was also surprised.
“I heard it’s been a long time since Mother shot, so I was worried it might end late today. But you’re doing surprisingly well! Thanks to Mother’s efforts, the schedule even finished 30 minutes early.”
The staff members’ mouths twitched at the thought of leaving early.
Min Seung-yeon reacted as if she didn’t know what to do with herself in the face of the camera director’s showering praise.
“I must have been very lacking compared to the kids… Thank you for speaking so kindly.”
“Oh, no, not at all. I’m not just saying empty words, you were truly good. How about making a formal re-debut later?”
At the mention of re-debut, Min Seung-yeon gave an awkward smile.
At that moment, Kang Dae-oh directly mentioned an anecdote the camera director didn’t know.
“Actually, after this shoot, she has a meeting scheduled with another clothing company.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes. A job posting for a fitting model went up, and she sent her portfolio, and they contacted her right away.”
“Wow. I don’t know what company that is, but they definitely have a keen eye. If I were involved, I would have contacted her too.”
The camera director showed strong conviction, saying that work would surely go well there too.
The weight of words from an ordinary person and an expert in a field is definitely different.
Perhaps that’s why Min Seung-yeon looked extremely pleased.
After finishing all the filming.
Kang Dae-oh drove his car towards the studio entrance to take his wife and daughters home.
Min Seung-yeon and the daughters, who were waiting, bid farewell to the staff.
“We’ll get going now.”
“Thank you for your hard work today!”
After a brief goodbye and getting into the car.
A long sigh, “Whoosh~!”, escaped Min Seung-yeon’s lips.
At her appearance, Kang Dae-oh chuckled softly.
“Are you very tired?”
“Yes, I am. It’s been a long time since I shot. Even when I was actively working as a fitting model, I never shot for this long.”
Nevertheless, Min Seung-yeon felt more happy than tired.
Because.
She was able to be with her beloved daughters and husband.
Min Seung-yeon turned her head back, intending to thank her daughters who had helped her in many ways today.
“Thank you, kids… huh?”
Before Min Seung-yeon could speak.
All three daughters were asleep, leaning their heads against each other.
If they had adult bodies, this kind of schedule would have been nothing.
But perhaps because they still had the bodies of children with less stamina, they were completely drained as soon as the shoot ended.
Saekkeunsaekkeun. Min Seung-yeon smiled wryly, watching her daughters peacefully sleeping side by side.
She picked up the lap blanket that was draped over her legs and carefully covered her daughters with it.
“When you look at them like this, they’re really just babies.”
Even if they were adults on the inside, in Min Seung-yeon’s eyes, they were still babies that Mom and Dad had to care for and look after from head to toe.
Kang Dae-oh nodded several times, deeply empathizing with Min Seung-yeon’s words.
Then, he quietly pressed the accelerator.
It was a father’s own effort to keep the children from waking up.
Even though the car had started, Min Seung-yeon spoke in a small voice, watching the children still deeply asleep.
“When we get home, we should wash the kids first.”
“That would be good. More importantly, how was it, shooting after a long time?”
Min Seung-yeon wore a deep smile at her husband’s question.
“It was good. Much more than I expected.”
The clock named ‘her wife’s dream’, which had stopped for a while.
Began to turn again with a gear-whirring sound.
